Last year our social calendar was jam-packed with exciting industry events and to end the year, our team members Allison, Sarah, and Rhys, travelled to London to take part in the eighth edition of the ever-popular FOCUS 2022 event held at the Business Design centre in Angel.

This two-day event, known as ‘the meeting place for the international production community’, offers attendees a free-to-attend programme consisting of panels, masterclasses, workshops and presentations as well as the chance to network with some well-known names in the industry.

With each stall offering attendees something different, we wanted to make sure that we represented Wales as best we could. Positioned alongside our colleagues from 4Wood, Location Solutions, Shadow Scaffolding, Dragon Studios, and Compass Travel and Accommodation, we were able to show attendees all that Wales has to offer the industry and the wide range of facility companies ready to support each production based in Wales.

Last year saw over 180 speakers from the Film, TV, advertising, games, and XR world making it the perfect event for those wanting to discover and learn about all aspects of production, from pre through to post.

Each year FOCUS attracts thousands of production professionals from across the creative screen industries, including film, TV, advertising, animation, and games and as well as speaking to attendees, we were also able to connect with and learn about other content makers and facilitators from over 100 countries.

We had a such a fun time spreading the word of just how great a location Wales is and what we at Screen Alliance Wales are able to offer the industry. With this year set to be even bigger and better, we can’t wait to do it all over again in 2023.
